Psyche Entering Cupid's Garden - Mastercopy
Psyche Entering Cupid's Garden is a brilliant painting by John William Waterhouse, a master of impressionism during the neoclassical era. I am always entranced by his artwork, but my goal of this master copy was not to imitate his style but to create an homage to it in my own style.
The Figure
Every master copy serves a goal for an artist. One of my goals with this master copy was to create a high resolution, detailed illustration of an anatomically correct figure. Due to John William Waterhouse's impressionist brushstrokes, the details are often obscured. Now, the figure is revealed in a precise manner for the first time.
